   "From pond to pond"

   2025

    is a kinetic art installation inspired by Taoyuan’s unique landscape and heavy industrial character. The plaster forms are cast from real ponds in nature. Visitors actively participate by placing a new pond into the industrial-style machine, which is triggered randomly by proximity sensors. When the object falls and shatters, it fragments into pieces—symbolizing Taoyuan’s map, where the landscape is densely speckled with ponds. The journey transforms one pond into many, embodying the transition "from pond to pond."

   URBAN RHYTHMS

   The Pier2 Art Center, Kaohsiung, Taiwan
   This tectonic sound installation is based on a field study of the urban environment of Kaohsiung and local ready-made materials, created during an artist residency. The core of the work stems from a local cultural peculiarity: unwanted furniture and fittings in the city are simply placed out on the street until collected by waste management.

   By collecting and gathering these used local furniture pieces, a large-scale architectural structure was built. It seamlessly conceals various speakers embedded directly into the surfaces to use them as acoustic resonators. The installation is further enriched by field recordings captured directly in the city of Kaohsiung.

   Moving around the installation, the visitor experiences a shifting soundscape. Because each device features multiple recordings, the sounds overlap and create unique, unrepeatable combinations every time, allowing the audience to feel the true rhythm of the city through its abandoned and revived materials.

   This kinetic installation explores the invisible rhythms of everyday life and the unconscious imprints of our actions.

   Equipped with embedded chalks, the objects—chairs and a table—begin to move slowly and autonomously across a white platform as it vibrates. This reflects everyday situations where we fail to notice how items around us gradually shift, until we suddenly realize a chair or object has ended up somewhere completely different.

   The installation comes to life through its viewers: visitors passing by trigger the work via sensors. Thus, every exhibition guest becomes part of the artwork, indirectly influencing and leaving their unique trace within the shared space.

    The work is about modern society, for power and change. Work going on process­based cycle, such as existing power takes power shift, rotation. At times remain the same, but sometimes comes in place new. In object I have shown community and its attitude to the ongoing process.

    This work was made for the exhibition which took participation in Germany, in Hamburg, on the theme of 100 years since the first World War.

    Idea of work is what materials we use, and what consequences it may lead. On the one side, it facilitates human life and on the other, it can contaminate. Oil is the cause of the first and second World War. War devastating effects are reflected today.

    Any war is destructive, war all means are formed from the same resources. Resources are combined and allocated, but in the end everything comes back to the same place. More technology develops, more damage it might cause to humanity.
